Fitchburg Police Captain Charles Tasca was fired on Friday after being suspended without pay while under investigation for misusing compensation time.
The termination comes a day after a hearing was held Thursday morning to decide whether or not he had misused 10 paid comp days since June of 2009.
Tasca’s attorney plans to appeal the firing with the state Civil Service Commission.
